Cantina del Glicine – Barbaresco

BARBARESCO DOCG ‘MARCORINO’

VINEYARD: Marcorino parcel in Neive. 38 year old vines, 300m asl, 5.000 vines x Ha., the soil is compact limestone intermixed with loam and sand, covered by a thin layer of clay. 100% Nebbiolo.

WINEMAKING: Grapes are handpicked at the end of October and fermented into red wine in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature with ambient yeasts; maceration last for 2 weeks minimum, depending on the quality of the harvested grapes. The wine ages for 18 months in a mix of old French oak tonneaux and Slavonia oak casks (20 to 40 Hl.).

WINEMAKING Nebbiolo grapes are hand-picked the last week of October, destemmed, crushed and fermented at cool temperature with ambient yeasts in stainless steel vats. Maceration on the skins last for up to two weeks. The wine ages in medium and small-size Slavonia oak casks (20-40 Hl).
