‘OMAGGIO A QUINTINO SELLA’
VINEYARD: 1 Ha., 45 year old vines, spurred cordon training-system, density up to 5.500 vines per Ha. South-West exposure. 100% Nebbiolo.
WINEMAKING: Grapes are handpicked the last week of October. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature in open wooden vats with ambient yeasts. The wine ages for 3 years in Slavonia oak casks (30 Hl.) and then it matures for one more year in bottle at the cellar prior to release. Meant as a tribute to Quintino Sella – ancestor of the Sella family – this wine represents the highest expression of the Lessona terroir and a masterpiece in Nebbiolo winemaking.
