VINEYARD: 4 Ha located in the southernmost part of the Val di Cornia Doc appellation, facing onto the sea and the Elba island. Guyot-training system, 35 year old vines, 6.000 plants x Ha. The topsoil is red clay rich in iron over a block of volcanic chalk [Tufo]. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot.
WINEMAKING: Grapes are handpicked and fermented into red wine in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature with ambient yeasts; maceration last for 2 weeks. The wine ages for 12 months in French oak tonneaux prior to release.
