VINEYARD: 10 Ha. in Montefalco. 30 year old vines. Topsoil is red clay rich in iron oxides, over a bedrock of volcanic chalk [Tufo]. 5000 vines x Ha. 100% Sagrantino.

WINEMAKING: Grapes are handpicked in September and air-dried for two months, with a 50% weight loss per bunch. Withered grapes are pressed, cold-soaked and fermented on the skins for 20 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine ages in a mix of French oak tonneaux and 30 Hl Slavonia oak casks for 12 months prior to bottling.

Sagrantino grapes are hand-picked around mid October, naturally air-dried for 3 months and then crushed and fermented at controlled temperature into stainless steel tanks. The wine ages in wooden barrels for 12 months prior to bottling and commercial release.
