Totaling over 50 million hectoliters of global wine production a year, 30.000 bottlers and approximately 1 million hectares of total vineyard land, Italy routinely competes with France as the world’s biggest wine-producing country.

Italy’s enormous wine output springs from a fascinating, unique heritage of indigenous grape varieties (400 and counting…), scattered across the 300-something geographical appellations that stretch non-stop from the Alps in the north down to Sicily and the sun-drenched sea shores of the south.

Italy’s highly heterogeneous wine production literally embraces all colors, flavors and styles imaginable.In-depth local knowledge, long tasting experience and a clear vision of quality referred to every single regional appellation are fundamental to take out the most from the ever-confusing, contradictory Italian wine cosmos.

Our selection is the culmination of nearly 30 years of passionate investigation of Italy’s most extraordinary wine districts:we have tasted and traveled happily up and down the boot for many years to bring our catalogue to its present state, and we are proud to represent small growers committed to safeguarding obscure Doc and extravagant grape varieties as well as well-known, long-established reference-point producers bottling timeless classics such as Barolo, Amarone, and Brunello.

Since the beginning our portfolio has focused on wine growers striving to express the authentic perfumes and the inimitable flavors of Italy’s numerous native grapes, oftentimes committed to organic farming and minimally intrusive winemaking. Our selection represents 30+ different regional grape varieties from all over Italy.

The reference values our wine portfolio is built upon are simple and easy to list, although increasingly hard to find in contemporary Italy’s changing wine world: distinctive, self-styled wines loaded with food-friendly acidity and moderate alcohol, originating from old vines grown on extreme soils and tended following the ancient systems, vinified by conscientious growers pursuing their own vision of sustainable viticulture and traditional, all-natural winemaking.

Above all we have sought out wines which we believe display a distinct sense of place and a characteristic personality, with a consistent style vintage by vintage and a tangible value for their price point. The present wine-list is the culmination of several years of passionate survey and meticulous tasting and we hope you will enjoy the result!
