La Guardiense – Beneventano Aglianico
La Guardiense (www.laguardiense.it) is one of the largest and best respected cooperative cellars operating in Campania, founded in 1962 and counting over 1.000 growers as long-standing members and grape suppliers.
The Beneventano area specializes in the production of zesty, citrusy Falanghina-based whites and fruit-forward, elegant Aglianco-based reds. La Guardiense controls many prized Aglianco vineyards across the Beneventano Igt appellation, and is renowned in the region for its excellent entry-level Beneventano Igt Aglianico ‘Castel Fremondo’ a mainstay and a classic wine-by-the-glass poured in many fine restaurants in Naples and the rest of the region.
